Styling a Shirt Dress and Shorts

Ya’ll know how much I love to thrift. I found these vintage shorts about 2 years ago at an estate sale. I don’t usually wear short due to be a bit self conscience about showing my legs. I really liked the tribal pattern and colors in these shorts so I got them anyway. About a year before, I scored this vintage linen shirt dress. I put it on several times and just didn’t like the way it looked buttoned up.

One day while going through my closet, I noticed that together these pieces would look great. In order to pull the look together, I needed a crop top. When I began screen printing, I made a crop top with my GraceFro design. I decided to put all three pieces in this look and feel in love.

The key to styling a look is to think of unconventional ways to wear each piece. Although this is a shirt dress that buttons up, I decided to wear it as a duster. What do you have in your closet that can be transformed just by wearing it differently?
