Naturally Chic: Altered Tshirt & Maxi Skirt

Last year I created a graphic for natural hair. I intended to use it for a blog but decided against creating a separate one. I absolutely love this graphic and thought it would look great on a tshirt.

A week ago, I created this shirt by printing the graphic, tracing it on black fabric, cutting it out and sewing onto a tank top. It looked amazing but the only problem was that I placed it too low on the tank. When I put on my vintage black maxi skirt, the bottom half of the graphic was covered. I was bummed! I then decided to alter the tank top so the graphic would sit higher and it unintentionally became a halter. (too much cutting…scissor happy hands!)

Despite the alteration mistake, I am still in love with this top! I paired it with a black vintage maxi skirt and strappy wedge sandals.

UPDATE 6/27/16: Due to many requests, I have created this halter top for purchase.  Check out www.knowdefinition.com

Style Tip: Don’t be afraid to create a look that is uniquely you.
